Paleo Cashew Sauce: A healthier way to enjoy your favorite dipping sauce!

Updated: May 24, 2023

If you're looking for a healthier, gluten-free, and dairy-free way to enjoy your favorite dipping sauce, look no further than Paleo Cashew Sauce! This creamy and flavorful sauce is made with just a few simple ingredients, and is perfect for dipping veggies in, as a topping for

salads, tacos, and more. Plus, it's easy to make and kids tend to love it! In this blog post, I will be sharing my favorite recipe for Paleo Cashew Sauce so you can make it at home and enjoy it anytime.

The health benefits of cashew sauce

I don't know about you, but I LOVE dipping my food into sauces. When I was a kid, ranch dressing was a favorite sauce to dip veggies in, but now that I am older and wiser (I hope), I know that ranch dressing is not the healthiest choice. It's super-processed, calorically dense, and not ideal for anyone who is looking to improve their health.

Cashew sauce is rad because it's a whole food that has a relatively low glycemic index (GI) of 25! The fiber slows down the rate of insulin production and helps you feel fuller longer.

Cashews are also a superfood for your brain! With a perfect balance of monosaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids, it's the magic juju that helps with brain health, improves memory, and aids with reducing inflammation.

Cashews are also high in vitamins and minerals like copper, magnesium, zinc, and B vitamins. This makes them a great dairy-free source of calcium and a delicious dairy-free dipping sauce. As an added bonus, cashews also contain a variety of antioxidants, which help keep your body healthy. So, when you eat cashew sauce you're not only enjoying a delicious treat, but you're also taking care of your body!

Why this recipe ROCKS!

Making a healthy change that lasts past a diet comes from changing the way that we think about food and exercise. This is one of those simple steps that by itself, probably won't change your life, but it's part of the bigger picture of living a healthy lifestyle. Aside from the physical health benefits, it's DELICIOUS!

Plus, kids love it - it's a great way to get them to eat more veggies!

What's even better is that this recipe uses only whole foods, meaning that you're getting all the natural nutrition of the ingredients instead of relying on artificial flavors. This is especially beneficial if you're looking to make healthier choices or want to be sure you're getting the most out of your meals. Plus, it's an incredibly versatile sauce that can be used as a dip for veggies or as a topping for salads, tacos, and just about anything you can eat.

So why settle for ordinary when you can enjoy this amazing dairy-free dipping sauce? You'll be glad you made the switch and your tastebuds will thank you!

The ingredients you'll need

1 cup raw cashew

1/2 cup cold water

1/4 cup olive oil

1/4 cup lemon juice

1 tbsp coconut aminos

1/2 tbsp nutritional yeast

1/2 tbsp garlic powder

1 tsp sea salt

1 tsp chipotle powder

1/4 tsp cayanne pepper (optional)

Step-by-step instructions

Start by soaking the raw cashews overnight in a bowl of cold water. After the cashews have had a good soak, drain the water and pour the cashews into a high-powered blender or food processor. Next, add the water, olive oil, lemon juice, coconut aminos, nutritional yeast, garlic powder, sea salt, and chipotle powder.

If you like a bit of heat, add in the optional cayenne pepper. Blend until smooth and creamy. Now you have yourself a delicious dairy-free dipping sauce! Pour the mixture into a bowl or container and let it sit in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before using. This will help thicken up the mixture and give it an even more delicious flavor.

Serve this paleo cashew sauce with veggies for a healthy snack, or use it as a topping for tacos or salads for an easy lunch. Enjoy!
